Double Peer Review Process
The editorial process of the publication is based on peer review in the double-blind review system, whereby both authors and reviewers remain anonymous during the article evaluation process. The average time for passing through the editorial filter is four weeks.
About the review process
1. The reviewers are PhD researchers with expertise in the areas and themes of the journal.
2. If the submitted manuscript meets all the formal criteria, the editors will perform a preliminary analysis. If they believe that the work does not align with the scope of the journal or does not have the minimum quality required, they may reject it without sending it for peer review.
3. If the article does not meet the established formal criteria, the editors may reject it.
4. Manuscripts that pass this initial stage will be sent for evaluation by two external reviewers, specialists with expertise in the areas and themes of the journal.
5. If there is a divergence between the opinions or if the editors deem it appropriate, the work will be submitted to a third reviewer.
6. Based on the opinions received, the editors will make the final decision:
- Acceptance of the article: the manuscript may be approved as is or with minor changes.
- Publication subject to adjustments: from the date of submission of the editorial opinions, the author will have up to 30 days to make and justify the changes suggested by the reviewers and/or editors, indicating in detail how each recommendation was accepted or, eventually, rejected. Changes must be limited to the requests made by the reviewers and/or editors. If the deadline is exceeded without justification, the article will be automatically rejected. In addition, the editors reserve the right not to publish the article if the changes made do not satisfactorily meet the requirements presented, unless a consistent justification is provided.
- Rejection: the manuscript will be rejected and will not be published in the International Journal of Education and Teaching.
- Resubmission for further analysis: the author may resubmit the article for evaluation, initiating a new submission process.
- Final review: the responsibility for the final review of the text lies with the authors. The journal does not undertake the grammatical review of submitted manuscripts.
- Adjustments before publication: before the final stage, a version of the manuscript will be sent to the authors with possible requests for adjustments related to editing. Editors may include comments in the text so that the authors can make the necessary changes before publication.
To guide the evaluation process, the journal has a set of guidelines and a standardized form for the invited evaluators to fill out.
