PROMOTING THE ACCESS TO PAULO FREIRE'S WORK THROUGH DIGITAL COLLECTION

This article presents the process of building Paulo Freire's new digital archive. The name of the educator is a reference for world education, more than a method of literacy he left an internationally recognized legacy. Digital platforms are another way available for access to Freire's life and work, as is the case with the digital repository. Currently the digital repository faces several problems such as the difficulty of locating content by researchers, unfriendly interface and security flaws, due to the tool's own out-of date, among others. Therefore, in partnership with the Paulo Freire Institute, in order to face these problems, we seek to offer contributions to expand access to the work of educator Paulo Freire. Over time, several activities were developed, initially research was done to know if an update would be made in the management system of the repository already in use, or if another type of repository would be implemented, as well as exports of data from the old version and import to a more updated version, elaboration of a new welcome page, as well as visualization tools that aim to promote better user interaction with the contents of the collection as well as several tasks necessary to be successfully updated. The launch of the digital archive was promoted online due to the coronavirus, the COVID-19. The work brings contributions in the technical-scientific, innovation and socioeconomic dimensions.
